Paulson Offers GD&T and Blueprint Reading Training Courses

Paulson Offers GD&T and Blueprint Reading Training Courses

blueprint-w66b_0CHESTER CT (August 2016) — There’s a reason why the old saying, “measure twice, cut once,” is a time-honored piece of advice. And it’s that measurement part that’s really crucial to any build or part fabrication.

With part design and mold making for example, blueprints and engineered drawings are essential to the start of the process. Creating and reading blueprints or engineering drawings is a specialized skill that requires a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances or GD&T. And now Paulson Training Programs offers the leading GD&T training from Tec-Ease, Inc. delivered online with access anytime, anywhere and from any device. In addition, this training can be loaded onto a company’s LMS system and is also available on DVD making for easy access on internal company networks.

With Paulson’s GD&T course, process engineers, part and mold designers, mold making machinists, and others can now understand the basics of drafting and reading blueprints and engineering drawings—-a skill necessary in part design and fabrication. GD&T is a system of symbols, rules, and definitions defined by an internationally recognized standard. It is used to clearly define the geometry of parts being manufactured. It’s the technical language needed to communicate the specifications of a part or product being created.

“Partnering with industry leader Tec-Ease to offer this important course to our customers provides yet another added value. Many of our customers are machinists and operators or production personnel who are responsible for executing their customers’ projects. It’s crucial to have this skill in order to produce quality parts and our new training on GD&T provides an excellent resource,” said Craig Paulson, president of Paulson Training Programs.

Adding, “This training is taught in accordance with the ASME Y14.5-2009 standard and includes 32-40 hours of computer based lessons that can be taken any time and on any computer device.”

Included in Paulson’s new online course are: Print Reading for Today, The GD&T Hierarchy Coach-Fundamentals of GD&T, reference tools, pocket guides, self-study books and videos. For more information visit
