OCTOBER SimTech™ Challenge Wrap Up
Alexandru Crai of OMS Besser Group has once again claimed first place in our SimTech Challenge events. Our other serial winner, Johnny Ash of Preformed Line Products, came in second. It’s clear that these two competitors are expert molders. They consistently top the leaderboard and make the top ten winners list. But our third place winner is new comer Pat Baker from MTMD. Congratulations Pat! Well done! While we appreciate the advanced skill level Alexandru and Johnny bring to the challenges, it’s refreshing to see new competitors and we’d love to see even more especially those that have the skill to unseat the top dogs! If you’re out there, show us what you got!
This month’s featured setup is by Pat Baker from MTMD. In this month’s challenge, the material used for molding was Acrylic, and participants will have noticed that this part was flashing. Flashing is a common part problem and must be addressed first in the optimization process. This is because flashing creates a high probability of tool damage. Those who participated and earned a score did a good job at addressing this part problem.
