About the Instructor
Umberto F. Catignani, President of Orbital Plastics Consulting, Inc., has earned a B.S. in Materials Engineering, an M.S. in Polymer Engineering, and has held positions at Husky Injection Molding Systems and General Motors Corporation — Delphi Packard Electric Systems. His consulting company provides a wide range of solutions for the injection molding industry, including systems integration, equipment selection, training, application & design review, and process troubleshooting, improvement and optimization.

Mr. Catignani has jointly published papers dealing with Crystallization, Microstructure, and Kinetics of Polymers in SPE Technical Papers, The Journal of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering & Science. Most recently he published an article in Plastics Machinery & Auxiliaries on streamlining the PPAP process entitled “Qualifying Tools for Automotive Molding.”

Mr. Catignani is Treasurer and a Silver Grade Member of the Southern Section of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
