PAULSON TRAINING PROGRAMS, INC. ANNOUNCES 2007 DATES FOR PAULSON SCHOOL OF MOLDING

Chester, CT (January  23, 2007)… The Paulson School of Molding (PSM), a division of Paulson Training Programs, Inc., the leading provider of quality training services to the plastics manufacturing industry, will offer training programs in nineteen locations throughout the US and Canada in 2007. The School of Molding has grown exponentially, tripling in size since its launch in 2004 with the number of graduates from across North America growing by 300 percent in 2006. PSM graduates of the course earn "Paulson Certified" status.

The Paulson School of Molding gives processors the training to:

  • Understand processing from the "plastic's point of view"
  • Quickly improve knowledge and skills in the technology of injection molding or extrusion
  • Minimize production errors and downtime
  • Dramatically increase production floor problem-solving ability
  • Maximize profit with the most efficient set-up operation possible

Paulson-Certified injection molding professionals receive the only production-floor training program of its kind. Combining hours of hands-on machine time with Paulson’s exclusive SimTech process simulation program and classroom instruction, the School of Molding gives you or your employees the skills needed to dramatically improve molding performance.

Three training levels are available—ProMolder 1, 2 and 3—each with certificates for successful completion. And, employees are provided with free screening, through the Paulson SkillCheck online test, to ensure proper class placement.

Lead instructor for the program is Umberto Catignani, a recognized expert in the plastics industry and principal of Atlanta-based Orbital Plastics Consulting, Inc., the Paulson School of Molding partner.
“It is always a wonderful experience to hear attendees voice their comments on the training they received. They are always positive and upbeat that they now understand complex molding phenomena and will be able to implement this knowledge immediately upon returning to their plant,” says Catignani.

He adds, “My goal is to explain complex molding problems and situations in a way that anyone can understand and have the ability to apply this knowledge to a future problem.”

Additionally, Scott Paulson, President of Paulson Training says, “The Paulson School of Molding has far exceeded our initial expectations and we’re pleased that our industry has responded with such enthusiasm to the expansion of our on-site training division. Most rewarding is the results companies are experiencing from the training and the positive feedback we receive regarding the curriculum, teaching style and program quality. We’re focused on expanding the program in both number of classes offered and subject matter additions in the future.”

Classroom Instruction Combined with Hands-On Machine Training

Throughout the program, attendees will engage in a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on machine time and the use of SimTech, Paulson's unique injection molding simulation program that allows for experimentation and problem solving in one hour what would take an entire day or longer on an actual machine. SimTech, in short, is a program one can use to learn how to “process out” part defects; this exclusive and powerful combination of hands-on machine time, process simulation and classroom instruction will further emphasize the unique advantage we offer. However, nothing replaces actual hands-on machine time, and there is plenty of that incorporated into the program as well.

“No other training class in the industry can teach you what the Paulson School of Molding can," said Paulson. "We combine state-of-the-art classroom instruction featuring Paulson's SimTech molding simulation program with over 20 hours of hands-on machine time. This ‘learning, then doing’ model is proven to be the best way to teach the molding skills that will make a big difference when graduates of the PSM return to their own plant floor."
