Course Summary: ProMolder 2 combines classroom instruction with hands-on learning by conducting 50% of the class on the shop floor. The emphasis of this program is to establish solid molding practices and understanding of set-up, optimizing cycles and analyzing molding problems. As part of the certification, attendees must pass multiple machine and written tests. Topics covered include:

• Nature of Plastics
• Inside the Injection Molded Part
• Four Primary Plastics Conditions: Processing from the Plastic’s Point of View
• Plastic Flow Behavior
• Inside the Molding Machine
• Inside the Mold
• Molding Machine Operations
• Universal Processing Parameters: Scientific Based Solutions

Attendees must apply these techniques by developing robust processes using screw based VPT techniques. Graduates of this program will have a greater understanding of plastic behavior in the machine and mold and gain greater knowledge of the effects of each machine control. Valuable hands-on experience will be gained in developing robust processes for actual molding jobs using proven scientific based solutions.
